It’s been said that friends are with us for only a season.
We should expect an ebb and flow of support from those around us. Yet, the loss of a dear friend is almost unbearable.
What if you had a friend who vows never to leave you for any
reason? What if the friend never breaks that vow? What if the friend smiles when you’re happy and comforts you when
you’re sad? What if that friend loves you no matter what you look like? What if in rain or shine, night or day, poverty
or wealth, that friend is only a prayer away?
The answer to all these what-ifs is found in the familiar hymn,
"What A Friend We Have In Jesus." I sing this song in an upbeat tempo for my joy in having such a steadfast
friend. I hope you are also inspired as you think about your lifetime friend. —Cheryl

VERSE 1
What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer…
